I’m glad to see you’re pushing African music. I myself am pushing a sibling to go to Lagos, Nigeria someday to see Femi Kuti at the Africa Shrine. There’s a great DVD/CD of him performing there that will whet your appetite. Oddly enough its called “Femi Kuit: Live at the Shrine.” I saw him at SXSW in Austin last year and permanently enshrined a picture I snapped of him in my musical water closet. Now every time I’m lining the Houston sewer lines with my personal stream of home brewed organic beer runoff I can glance up and see him. don’t have to pee like a refugee…
