Naked bike riding. In the continuing celebration of Bike to Work week I share this good news: On June 9th, people everywhere will be biking naked – and it doesn’t have anything to do with biking and beer.
World Naked Bike Ride is just what it sounds like. People take off their clothes and get on their bikes. Some of them paint their bodies. Some don goofy costumes. They do this because:
“We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the best way of defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians as well as the negative consequences we all face due to dependence on oil and other forms of non-renewable energy.”
