Nice blog, i’m a chilean student and right now i’m doing a work of artisanal beers which i will have to make a presentation on monday haha. I’ve drunk a lot of artisanal beers and my favorites are the the Volcanes stout, Del Puerto, Colonos beer and kunstmann bock.
Now reading this topic i’ve got more things to write in my work, nice work!

Now i´m posting some commentaries about some bars i visited in Valparaíso. We took the same picture in Cafe el Paso, of the 3 del puerto beer in the bar.

About the artesanales brewers, some of them are really trying to get the correct receipe, you can notice a big difference between some of them. It´s hard to get the same flavour and aroma, but sometime you think they´ve lost the receipe.

Hopefully they´re all gona do well, but i think some of them are destined to failure.

Imagine how the envy flows through my veins when i read this. Im chilean, have a beer blog about 4 months ago and haven´t been able to go to the brewers industries, not in Santiago or Valdivia or Valparaíso. I´ve tasted most of the, only missing calle calle and cerro alegre.

I enjoyed reading your account of beers in Temuco. I need to point out a common error appearing in your reference to Gabriela Mistral, however. Where you write “the historic Hotel Continental, where Pablo Neruda is said to have favored room number nine, while Gabriela Mistral (the first Latin American woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature) preferred room ten.”

It is important to remember that Gabriela Mistral was the first Latin American WRITER (either MALE or FEMALE) to win the Nobel Prize. No other Latin American WRITER won the prize before her…
