Dave at Via Negativa sent me this instructional video on how to break a glass beer bottle with nothing but some water and your bare hands – without hurting yourself at all. It’s a good lesson in why you should keg your homebrew, use those thick old school returnable bottles, or else large, strong swing-cap bottles like the ones sold by purveyors of fine homebrew supplies like these ones at Seven Bridges.

Seriously, bottle bombs are the worst, I think I’m slightly scarred for life, (metaphorically, not physically.) I’ve moved on to kegging.
The issue with kegging, you have to brew a whole lot more to keep the supply. Not a bad thing, just a thing.
