Hugh Sisson at the Bawlmer-based Clipper City Brewing has announced that he’ll be converting his Oxford beer line to be USDA Certified Organic. The Oxford line currently sports a hefeweizen and a raspberry wheat.
The funny thing is that I actually talked to Hugh a little over two years ago about whether he’d be willing to produce an organic beer line with some fair trade ingredients for me on contract and at the time he was concerned about the organic certification process. It seems he’s been converted. He describes what he likes about brewing organically in a recent post on his Diary of a Brewer blog right here.
At the moment, the company website just says “Top Secret – Coming Soon” referring to the Oxford Organic beers so we’ll have to wait and see when this brews will hit the local shelves.
